Godric's Hollow
Well, I think all of you know what this story is about.
Characters not mine. Here's the story
Not the best story ever...but its my first fic. So oh well. Here it goes
*****************
James and Lily Potter sat in their front Living Room of their beautiful hidden house in Godric's Hollow. James sat in the window sill, staring out the window, with one leg hanging off of the sill and the other proped up against it. Lily sat with their 1 year old son, Harry, on her lap. The room was in complete silence except for their son gurgling happily at his parents
They family knew about the Prophecy made about their son, and how he was the one to Vanquish Lord Voldemort, and for some reason they felt that tonight he was going to come. They knew it.
James sighed heavily and left the window sill, taking a seat on the leather couch next to his wife and son. He put an arm around Lily and she sighed and laid down on the couch and laid her head on James' lap
"James, Im so scared." Lily said.
James said, running her fingers through her hair "Lily, everything will be alright. We are going to be fine, and so is Harry.
"Im just so worried about Harry." Lily said, tears starting to well in her green eyes as she looked down at her son sitting on her lap, who was giggling happily to himeslf.
"Everything is going to be alright." James said, kissing her red head. After James' last statement the long silence filled the sitting room once more. They were both extremely worried about their son, and would give their life for him.
James looked at the little boy in Lily's lap. He resembled his self so much. His black hair, his chin, his nose. Everything reflected James except for his eyes. They were Lily's eyes, that was what he loved most about the appearence of his son. His eyes. 'He's gonna have the ladies all over him, like me, at Hogwarts' James thought, chuckling to himself. James couldn't believe that this little boy, gurgling, infront of him had the power to defeat Voldemort. And the fact that, 'It's going to be my son to kill him.' is what he couldn't get through his mind
The same thoughts were running through Lily's mind. Her amazing son on her lap, who resembled his father in every way possible, but his eyes. 'My eyes.' she thought. She loved his hair, his unruly hair, sticking up at every angle possible. Harry already had a mop of jet black hair forming on his tiny head. She ruffled his hair, and he gurgled happily, clapping his tiny, pale hands toghether. 'I can't believe my son has to defeat Voldemort. How can they tell he's only 1, and he was just forming inside of me when Sybill made the Prophecy.'
This night wasn't their ordinary evening, usually James was chasing Lily around the house, or they were always up to a good snog or even a shag when Harry was in his crib and had been fed. This night was different. They weren't chasing each other around or screaming their heads off, and tickeling each other to death. They were quiet and calm.
James glanced back out the window, from his seat on the couch and the same dark and dull fog lingered lowly on the street and the sidewalk. No one walked the street, not even the black cat that used to skitter across the asfault at night, the lampost light wasn't even flickering on and off as it usually did. Everything was different in some way.
They heard a crack, as if someone had apparated into the alley. Lily sat straight up, and James jumped up from the couch, and went to the window. A tall, dark, hooded figure had apparated into the street and was advancing on the house.
"Lily, its him." James said, quietly. "Lily, Go
"What?!?!" Lily cried, her eyes bulging the size of house-elves. Even Harry had stopped gurgling and noticed that something was wrong.
"He's here!" James said. "Go, now!"
Lily jumped up from the couch, clinging, the now crying, Harry to her chest. She ran over to James and they kissed for a quick moment.
"Go." James mumbled.
Lily nodded her head, "I love you!"
"I love you too, Lily." James said, giving her one last kiss.
She started dashing away from James, then turned back to see a frightned expression on his face as they both saw Voldemort coming closer and closer to the Manor.
"Lily, take Harry and go! It's him! Go! Run! I'll hold him off-" James said.
Lily stumbled up the wooded steps and up to Harry's nursery.
Back downstairs, the door to the Manor burst off its hinges, as Voldemort slowly, and swiftfully stepped inside the house.
"Get out of our house now, you great filth!!" James shrieked, holding his wand up at Voldemort.
Voldemort gave a high shrill laugh raised his wand and yelled, "ADVADA KEDAVRA!"
James lowered his wand, thoughts rushing through his mind. 'Please let this THING infront of me not kill Lily. Please let my only son survive. Please let him destroy this man! I will always be with you Lily, even when I am gone.'
Were his last thoughts before being engulfed into the jet of green light, as he knew no more.
******************
As Lily ran up the stairs, her child crying against her, tears pouring down her pale face she heard the front door blast off of its hinges. She gave out a loud cry and ran to her and James' room. She picked up the small pot next to the great fireplace and looked in it. 'Damn it! Were out of powder and I cant apparate with Harry.' She dropped the pot with a crash, as the powder with in it splutterd across the floor, and hurried out of their room to Harry's nursery.
In the hallway she heard James cry, "Get out of our house now, you great filth!!"
She heard the high laugh of Voldemort and a moment later she heard those terrible words "ADVADA KEDAVRA!!" and a in the hallway saw a blast of green light.
Lily gave out a loud "NO!" as she heard the words, and knew it wasn't James who had said them. She hurried into Harry's nursery and slammed the door behind her.
She put Harry into the crib and reached into the pot full of floopowder and was about to reach for Hary's crib again when the door to Harry's room blasted apart and a long hooded figure stepped into the room. Lily dropped the floopowder from her hands as she gave out a loud scream
"Stand aside now you silly, filthy little mudblood." Voldemort said, raising his wand on Lily.
"No! Please take me instead! Not Harry...please...please not Harry!" Lily cried.
"Stand aside now you little girl!" Voldemort yelled.
"No. Please take me instead. Please...not Harry...have mercy...have mercy!" Lily shrieked, tears streaming down her face.
"ADVADA KEDAVRA!!" Voldemort shrieked.
Lily gave out a loud cry and she began thinking with all her might. 'Please let Harry live through this horrible night, and let my sacrifice be enough for him. I love you Harry. Mommy will always be with you' Were her last thoughts before the green light took her and she was lost from the world.
Lily's body blasted out of the way and Voldemort advanced on Harry, crying in the crib. He raised his wand, a look of triumph on Voldemort's face, and yelled "ADVADA KEDAVRA!!"
